Introductory Fencing Lessons for Beginners

New fencers are encouraged to take our simple 4 week introductory series of fencing lessons which will introduce them to the history and elemental techniques of all three modern weapons: foil, epee, and sabre.
Week One is an overview, including basic history of the modern sport of fencing and introducing the three Olympic fencing weapons to new fencers. Week Two's fencing lesson introduces the basic rules and techniques of foil fencing.
Week Three includes fencing lessons for beginning fencers in epee, and Week Four concludes the course with insights into fencing with the sabre.

Once the introductory course is complete and you decide to continue and learn to fence, you can join the club in our Beginning Fencing program.

Joining the club is very easy; you fill out two forms, one is a liability waiver and the other applies for membership. The liability waiver is available HERE* as a PDF file, but you will need to fill out the membership form at the club. After filing these forms with our head coach, you can start as a Beginning Fencer.

Beginning Fencing Program

The Beginning Fencing program lasts for 6 months and focuses on developing a strong foundation of standard fencing techniques. Fencers in this program attend two sessions per week; one Group Lesson (the weekday depends on the weapon) lasting an hour and a half and our Open Bouting session on Friday evenings.
