Introductory Fencing Lessons

Fencing is very different from most other sports that people are typically familiar with. The best way to start learning about fencing is to take our 4-week Introductory Course.
This series of lessons introduces students to the history and basic techniques of our sport. In this class students will work with all three fencing weapons: the foil, the epee, and the saber.
A new Introductory Series starts every month, and costs $75 for the entire series.
Class meets each Friday evening from 7-8pm and each week has a distinct focus. Fencing equipment is provided.
Week One: Overview of the sport, including history of the modern sport of fencing and introduction to the three Olympic fencing weapons.
Week Two: Basic rules and techniques of foil fencing.
Week Three: Basic rules and techniques of epee fencing.
Week Four: Basic rules and techniques of saber fencing.

The schedule for the 2011-2012 season can be downloaded HERE

Once the introductory series is complete, you will have more opportunities to fence by joining the club in our Beginning Fencing program. Armed with confidence and the introductory knowledge you have learned, you are now ready for the more advanced group lesson setting.
Joining the club is very easy. Fill out a liability waiver, check the schedule for the start date of the next Series and come on in! The liability waiver is available HERE* as a PDF file.
