Fresno Fencing Academy NewsPosted Wednesday, October 4, 2006 The season is in full swing, with a number of competitions coming up this month, including the RYC at Kezar on the 21-22 and numerous Youth and Veteran Baycup events. With Olga's 1st Place finish at the LBI, we've got a good start; so keep your training consistent and check at the club or the Baycup website for info on time and place for your events. Posted Tuesday, August 1, 2006 Welcome to Fresno Fencing Academy's new website. We've done our best to rebuild it to make it easier to find the information you are looking for. By placing our navigation menu at the top of the page, the need to scroll down and look for the page you want to view isn't necessary anymore; its already there. Also, with some menu items there is a drop down menu attached. Unlike before, you don't have to click to view it, it does it by itself. This is especially useful when you are trying to view competitive statistics, which are readily available under the Results drop-down menus. Another new feature is the home page itself. The space will be used as a blog to announce news both particular to the club and to the fencing world in general, with headlines linked to full articles related to fencing and our own club news page. We hope you find it useful in your own pursuit of excellence!
Posted 7-26-06 The 2006-7 RYC schedule is posted HERE Posted 7-13-06 Summer Nationals are complete. Our club had six participants who were able to make the trip across the country to Atlanta, Georgia. They all fought their way through heat, humidity, and jet lag and did us all proud in their performances, especially Olga (who came in 12th in Juniors, putting her on the U.S. team) and Jesse, who continues to fence consistently in the top 8 in Girl's Epee. Well done all! See you next season! Posted 6-14-06 The Summer Camps are finally here! Everyone is having a blast learning fencing in all weapons. The results for the RYC #4 have been posted, we are very proud of our competitive fencers and the medals they brought home. Summer Nationals are in Atlanta this year and only a few of us can go. 5-27-06 Spaces in our Summer SwordPlay Camps are going fast! Over half of them are gone already, so sign up quickly to save your space. You can print out our flyer for the Camp HERE, and download the registration form HERE. See you there! We are still waiting for the official posting for the RYC in Menlo Park that was held last weekend (5/20-21), but we can say most proudly that everyone who participated took home a medal. More specifics as soon as the results are posted on the RYC website. 4-27-06 The results for the Sacramento NAC 'F' are posted. We are very proud of all of our competitors, especially our medalists Ryan Haux, Eric Kilgore, Jeremiah Gunn, and Jesse Radanovich. Keep it up people! Summer Nationals are going to be here before you know it! 3-29-06 Jr. PCC's results are posted, with some very impressive results from our fencers. Most impressive of course comes courtesy of Olga Ostatnigrosh, who won not 1, but 2 Gold Medals at the competition. The first in Cadet Women's Foil and the second in Under 19 Women's Foil. The girl is unstoppable. Other medals include: Jesse Radanovich, who took the Silver Medal in Y-10 Women's Epee, and a 3rd Place bronze in Y-12 Women's Epee and Lianne Haller with a 6th Place finish in Y-14 Women's Foil. Well done all! One other item of interest: Our new team jackets and pants came in and boy, what a hit! They're terrific. Hats off to Sara K. who made them happen. 3-12-06 Its been a very busy weekend. At the North American Cup competition in Reno, Rob Radanovich took 10th Place in the Division II Men's Epee, and 25th in Veteran's, while down the hill Jacob Kilgore tied for 3rd Place in Y-12 All Mixed Sabre at the Bay Cup in Davis and teammate Jeremiah Gunn tied for 3rd Place in the Y-14 All Mixed Sabre immediately afterward. Well done all! 2-23-06 Due to popular demand, we've posted all of our members results on a separate page here so feel free to check out our standings. We are also working on some other improvements for the site as well as the club itself, and we'll post those as they come online. 2-6-06 Congratulations to our fighters attending the Duel in the Desert in Las Vegas this last weekend. Olga Ostatnigrosh took 3rd Place fencing in Senior Women's foil, while Rob Radonovich, Leon Weldon, and Parker Klemin each gave as well as they got in Men's Epee. |
